ヴィンセント・ヴァレンタイン

説明

Vincent was once a member of the Turks thirty years before the events of Final Fantasy VII. He was assigned to supervise The Jenova Project in Nibelheim, where he fell in love with a scientist named Lucrecia Crescent, an assistant to Professor Hojo. Lucrecia later became pregnant, and Hojo planned to use her unborn child in his next experiment to study the effects of Jenova cells on a fetus. Vincent strongly opposed this. After Lucrecia fell sick during the experiment, an outraged Vincent confronted Hojo in the Shinra Mansion's underground laboratory. Angered by Vincent's confrontation, Hojo pulled a gun from his lab coat and shot him in the stomach. He then used Vincent's body for experiments aimed at making him stronger and capable of metamorphosis, though the procedure ultimately killed him. Overcome with guilt, Lucrecia entered the lab to find a way to save Vincent. Lucrecia injected him with stagnant Lifestream which revived Vincent and turned him into the beast Chaos. However, when Chaos became violent and nearly attacked her, Lucrecia implanted the Protomateria inside Vincent to keep the beast under control. Vincent responded to his modified body with both anguish and rage. To punish himself further, he placed himself in a coffin within the Shinra Mansion basement. Because of Hojo's experiments, Vincent remains physically 27 years old.
