Mirai was clinically brain dead prior to the Petrification, the doctors saying she'd never wake up. Tsukasa refused to give up on her and took on his MMA matches to keep paying the medical bills that kept her on life support. She was depetrified by Senku as part of the deal to end the war between the Kingdom of Science and the Tsukasa Empire.
