VORTEX Privacy Policy

This Policy applies to the VORTEX website and its features. The controller of personal data is Ivan Rovkov (Ровков Иван), an individual in Russia. Privacy requests may be sent to Oronemu@mail.ru.

VORTEX is a closed, non-commercial media catalog and community. It lets users maintain anime, manga, and light-novel lists, save progress, use social and game features, read news, access third-party playback sources, and use the VORTEX AI assistant.

Depending on the features you use, we may process:

• account and sign-in data: username, optional email, protected authentication data, linked Telegram details, and passkey information;
• profile data and preferences: display name, avatar, banner, biography, location and time zone you provide, language, privacy, and content settings;
• usage data: lists, favorites, ratings, recommendations, watch or reading history and progress, and player or reader preferences;
• user content and communications: posts, reactions, comments, reviews, direct messages, reports, support requests, and messages sent to VORTEX AI;
• social, game, and shared-feature data: friendships, blocks, notifications, rooms, match results, achievements, and virtual items;
• connected-service data: profile identifiers, sync choices, and access tokens for MyAnimeList or Shikimori;
• security and operational data: IP address, request time and URL, browser and device information, session data, error events, and actions needed to prevent abuse.

Most data comes directly from you when you register, complete a profile, publish content, use a feature, or contact us. Usage and security data is generated automatically when the site operates.

If you connect Telegram, MyAnimeList, Shikimori, or another available service, we receive only the information needed for the feature you selected. Interaction data may also come from other users, for example when they message, mention, report, or play with you.

We process data to provide the features you request, perform these Terms, preserve settings and progress, support communication, synchronize connected services, secure VORTEX, and respond to requests.

Depending on the context, processing is based on performance of our agreement with you, consent to an optional feature, our legitimate interests in security and service improvement, or compliance with law. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Your username and content posted in public areas may be visible to other users. Visibility of your profile, library, favorites, activity, friends, and presence depends on your privacy settings.

Direct messages are not published as public content, but they may be processed for delivery, security, report handling, and legal compliance. Do not submit another person's information without a lawful basis and any permission that may be required.

We disclose data only to the extent needed for a selected feature:

• infrastructure, storage, and error-monitoring providers that help operate VORTEX;
• Telegram for sign-in or account linking, and MyAnimeList or Shikimori for list import and synchronization;
• Anthropic or OpenRouter when you send a message to VORTEX AI; the selected provider receives the prompt and conversation context needed for a response;
• a third-party media or reading provider when you open its material or player; that provider may independently receive network data from your device;
• authorities or other persons where disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights and safety.

We do not sell personal data or share it for third-party targeted advertising.

VORTEX uses cookies and browser storage for sign-in, session protection, language selection, preferences, and feature operation. Disabling required cookies may make sign-in and some features unavailable.

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site advertising profiles. If abuse protection or error handling is enabled, the relevant provider may receive technical request data under its own policy.

Some external services may process data outside your country. When they are used, we limit disclosure to what is necessary and rely on a legal basis or safeguard required by applicable law. You may request details about a particular integration from the controller.

Account data and user content are retained while the account is active or while needed for a selected feature. You can clear or disconnect certain categories in settings. You may request full account and associated-data deletion from the controller.

Following a request, data is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period unless temporary retention is necessary for security, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or limited backups pending routine overwrite. Other users' content may retain references or replies without the deleted material.

We use proportionate organizational and technical safeguards, including access controls, protected authentication, abuse controls, backups, and error monitoring. Passwords are not stored in plain text.

No storage or transmission method is completely secure. You must protect your sign-in methods and promptly report suspected account compromise.

Subject to applicable law, you may:

• receive information about processing and a copy of your data;
• correct inaccurate data or update it in settings;
• request deletion or restriction, or object to processing;
• withdraw consent and disconnect an optional integration;
• receive portable data where this right applies;
• complain to a competent data-protection authority.

VORTEX is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect children's personal data. If you believe a minor submitted information without the authorization required by law, contact the controller so it can be reviewed and removed.

We may update this Policy when features or legal requirements change. The current version and date will appear on this page, and material changes will be communicated by an available method. Where a new activity requires consent, consent will be requested separately.
