Kirie Konami

Description

Height: 157 cm An attacker belonging to the Border Tamakoma Branch and a member of the A-rank Kizaki Squad (Tamakoma-1). She is a high school girl who tends to believe everything she’s told—earning her the nickname "the girl who swallows everything whole" (i.e., is incredibly gullible). She is frequently teased by Karasuma and Jin, who tell her all sorts of nonsense, and she is even looked down upon by Youtarou (who is younger than her). Despite this, she reportedly gets good grades at school. Examples of her being easily duped include: crying and rushing to the hospital after being told that swallowing gum would cause it to explode in her stomach; spending 30 minutes spinning a dry-cell battery because she was told it would "recharge" it; and staking out a river for an entire day with a camera after being told a kappa (a mythical water creature) had appeared there. Although she is quite young, she was a member of the "Old Border," making her one of the longest-serving members in the branch—second only to Branch Chief Rindou. In fact, her tenure within Border as a whole exceeds that of both Yuichi Jin and Reiji Kizaki, making her the most senior active official agent. While the exact circumstances of her joining the Old Border remain unclear, it appears she was caught up in an incident involving the Neighbor world and was rescued by Takumi Rindou. She seems to have been very attached to him; a photograph from that time shows her, as a young child, clinging to Rindou. Until about a year ago, she reigned as the #1-ranked Attacker, wielding a Kogetsu. After the formation of the Tamakoma branch, she stepped away from individual ranked battles; consequently, Tachikawa and Kazama surpassed her in points, pushing her down to third place—though no other agent has managed to overtake her since. It seems she prioritized her extracurricular lessons throughout middle school, meaning she only participated in ranked battles during the period from just before her middle school graduation until partway through her first year of high school. Like Ai Kitora, she attends Seirin Girls' Academy—a prestigious private school for young ladies that is not affiliated with Border—where she is a classmate of Rei Nasu from Nasu Squad. She maintains a "prim and proper" facade at school, and even claims her role at Border is merely that of "an operator." Incidentally, she is a cousin of Jun Arashiyama, and the two address each other by their first names. While she possesses both strong academic ability and a keen tactical eye, she tends to be biased when it comes to evaluating her own family members.
