Souya Kazama

Description

Height: 158 cm An attacker and the captain of the Kazama Unit—ranked 3rd in A-Class within Border Headquarters. He possesses a certain sharpness, never hesitating to state his thoughts clearly and directly. At the same time, he is open to accepting input from anyone—regardless of their rank—provided it has merit, and he ensures that those who fulfill their duties are duly rewarded. While he maintains a high level of personal pride and a consistently cool-headed demeanor, he harbors a deep, burning passion within. He has overcome numerous obstacles through a combination of wisdom and rigorous training. His older brother, Shin—who was four years his senior—was a member of the original Border organization, but he died five years before the start of the main story during a war involving the original Border’s allies. Although he belongs to Kido’s faction—which advocates for a hardline, uncompromising stance against Neighbors—he has told Branch Chief Rindou that he has "never thought about avenging his brother." In this respect, he differs from Miwa, whose sister was killed by Neighbors and who seeks revenge against them. Although highly capable and earnest, he also has a surprisingly scatterbrained side. Anecdotes about him include: failing to realize for several years that he had been paying the child fare for city buses; getting so drunk—thanks to Suwa—that he ended up "fighting" a mailbox; and attempting to get on Raijinmaru when he thought no one was looking—only to be caught on a security camera.
