Height: 170 cm (5'7") MEIKO is the first of the Japanese VOCALOID voice synthesizers released by Crypton Future Media. Her voice was provided by Japanese singer Meiko Haigo. MEIKO is seen as a complementary voicebank to KAITO. She is often portrayed with alcoholic beverages (most notably sake) due to her original VOCALOID1 voicebank having slurred pronunciation, causing her to sound drunk. It is a common misconception that her surname is "Sakine", however, MEIKO does not have a surname. Sakine Meiko is a fan-made derivative character created to portray a younger version of MEIKO. While she is officially recognised by Crypton, Sakine Meiko is not considered a canon version of MEIKO.
